Commented Issue: The Selected component could not be browsed [16187]

Following the video for adding touchless to my project, I got to Object browser, Browse to "custom component set" and click on the ... to edit custom component set. I am able to add the TouchlessLib but am unable to add WebCamLib.dll
I get an error message saying "The Selected component could not be browsed" with the path to where the file "IS" located.
I have tried downloaded the touchless SDK again, still with no luck.
Can anyone please help?

Hi,

We have successfully implemented the Touchless SDK in our VB.NET 2010 application and it runs fine under Windows 7. Running on Windows 8 Pro on a tablet, however, we do see some issues. For some reason the webcam does not unload correctly, this causes subsequent problems accessing the webcam in general. Even 3rd party programs that use the webcam fail after using our program once.

Is there a way to actually close the Webcam?

Ahhhh.... we used disposed, that solved the problem.

I know that we have found the solution to the issue ourselves, but.... I feel that we would all be helped by some documentation..

Although we seem to have fixed this in the coding, I feel that it would be good to have a method to colse the camera explicitly.

Im new in touchless sdk..

I created a program that captures image...it works on my pc which is 32 bit, winXP SP3, 1gb ram....it also works in a computer in our computer laboratory in school which is 32 bit, win7......but when I tried it in another computer which is 64 bit, win7 it show an INNEREXCEPTION EXCEPTION...I forgot the whole error string but what I remember is TouchlessLib is involved in the error...

I downloaded the sdk source code 55790 and converted to a Visual Studio 2010 solution without any error. But when I tried to compile the solution, it fails with many erros that could be resumed that WebCamLib does not exist. I tried to compile the WebCamLib project only, but it fails with 'qedit.h':No such file or directory in line 19 from WebCamLib.cpp. I tried to reference the binary WebCamLib.dll that I got from the demo, and now Visual Studio complains that it is not a valid .dll and the refence is no set.
What am I doing wrong?

Hello @ll,

I just tried to compile the newest version of Touchless SDK. It's working great, but when I change the webcam (I have two) I'm getting an exception "Graph builder was null!". Then I need to restart the application and it'll work great again, till I try to change my webcam. Any idea what the problem is?

I just downloaded the Touchless SDK 1.0 and 2.0 from the code tracker. I also downloaded the pre-compiled demo.

Here is what I get on all three of them. I have tried two different cameras as well.

It works fine in the Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Some webcam properties pages don't offer users the ability to flip their image.
Users will want to be able to do this easily.
Client side toggles should definitely be integrated into the demo, and maybe WebCamLib.

Sorry my english, i find a exception when i deactivate and activate 5 markers, in the release 5579 branches v.1.0, the exception throw in:

Line 388 of TouchlessMgr.cs ArgumentOutOfRangeException
...
for (int x = _markerScanCommandsX[mscIndexX].coordinate; x <= _markerScanCommandsX[mscIndexX + 1].coordinate; x++, pPixelCurr++)
...

mscIndexX is 1 and the array is of length 2 and therefore is outside the array

this is me pice of code:

Ok i solved the problem! i dont know if it's the best way but works for me :)

The problem arises when you deactivate and activate the markers, to perform this action, the DX and DY values rise to negative values for example -40 000

I solved it with this code as i mentioned above I do not know if it's the best way to solve the problem or whether this well at all but it works for me:

Line 470 of TouchlessMgr.cs

marker.prevData.DX = 0;
if (marker.prevData.DY < -imageWidth)
marker.prevData.DY = 0;

And in the line 382 of the same class:

Exception sometimes occurs in release code even without native images of application executable and Touchless SDK libraries.

When I runs touchless.demo as startup project in v2,
It could not find any camera.
but in v1, it has no problem like this.

As per my change #55789:
[EDIT] Partial workaround for x32 builds on an x64 machine:
Currently, only 64-bit WebCamLib builds will work on 64-bit systems.
Removed "Any CPU" and "Mixed Platforms" build configurations.

You can only use the x64 build configuration for 64-bit systems right now.
I'll look into a better long-term solution as I have time.
